Pharrell Williams

My Night With Pharrell

It was July 14, 2014 when I was getting ready to go to the Bruno Mars concert at Madison Square Garden with special guest Pharrell Williams. As usual I was in the front row with my parents waiting for the concert to start. Before we knew it Pharrell was on stage getting the concert started.
Pharrell was getting ready to sing his second to last song when my dad noticed Pharrell pointing in my direction. All of a sudden Pharrell’s bodyguard and production manager were telling my dad that Pharrell wanted me on stage for the last song. My dad then said, “ask my wife” and she said, “ Take her!” His bodyguard had to carry me up the stairs because there was no ramp. I couldn’t really hear what was going on, but before I knew it, I was on stage at Madison Square Garden.
Pharrell’s bodyguard began wheeling me out on stage where I met Pharrell. I was wheeled to the center of the stage when Pharrell looked at me and said, “Now you really have a front row seat baby!” Before he began singing “Happy” to me he said to the crowd “on the count of 3 say Lindsey”. Pharrell then asked me if we could sing “Happy” together and I screamed “YEAH!!!” We sang “Happy” together and it was possibly one of the greatest moments of my life.
When the song came to an end, all the dancers and Pharrell circled around me, and did a group hug. Then we all held hands, I was holding Pharrell’s hand and one of the back up singers hands. When we got in a line and did a group bow, he then hugged me and asked “Did you have a good time?” and I responded “YES!!”. When he hugged me he smelled so good! My parents then came out on the stage, shook Pharrell’s hand and said “Thank you.” One of his band members wheeled me off the stage, where I then went back to my seat to watch Bruno Mars. It was the best night of my life and I could not believe what had happened! I will never forget the time I was on stage with Pharrell Williams at Madison Square Garden.
